Hi-

This will be my 1st winter with the BX1850 and I plan on using it for snow removal, maybe 3~4 hrs. over the next 4 months (winter has not been the same these past few years - small and infrequent storms)

Wondering what folks add to their tanks out there in the colder climates (located in NH)?

Thanks
-Mike

Take your pick. FPPF

I use Total Power in my diesel truck as well as the BX 24. Since I have no way of measuring the marketing claims with a side-by-side (with/without) comparison, I can only testify it hasn't done any harm, yet.

Any of the fuel additives that prevent gelling will work just fine. I use white bottle Power Service all year.

Using nothing will also work just fine since winter blend fuel, on or off-road, is usually good to about -20F or so.

I picked some up at Messick's last year, not sure what it was but I still have some it. Neil, what is the stuff your part's department sells. Good stuff.

I have never used any additives for the farm tractor. The fuel supplier will use a winter blend when refilling close to winter so at least in Maryland this has not been a problem

I use Power Service in my diesel year round also. I use Stabil in all my gas equipment year round too. Actually cheap insurance for the bigger problems that can be induced by not using some chemicals. May or may not be the right things to do but makes me happy..

We use power service all year. We have a 330 gal diesel tank at the shop, we treat as needed. 330 gals last us 4-5 weeks.

I run a fleet of diesel trucks, generally winter blend fuel is "good enough" to keep the gel away, but we find when the temperatures fall to Sub-Zero that we see fuel lines freeze, even while the trucks are running! Power Service White Bottle is effective and what we use. I use it in my diesel tractors too. But I don't see a need for it year round. If you are going to be faced with temperatures that are regularly below 10 or 20 degrees then I would recommend using it all winter long. JMO
