After the 1 1/2 of ice followed by 8 inches of snow here in SW Missouri, my tractor (B-7500) would not function without the chains. I could clean the snow off, but as soon as I got to the ice, there was no traction. Fortunately, I had fitted the chains to the tires in the summer, when it was warm, cut off the excess chain, etc, so the chains went on reasonably easily yesterday. I have a quarter of a mile of private, hilly driveway to clear, and the chains saved the day. This is the first time I have had to use them after owning them for four years; needless to say, I was awfully glad to have them.
