I had mine mounted on the front and was able to keep some suitcase weights there as well,I had to take it off when I bought my new 4 in 1 loader ,I sure miss having it on the front end.

I put a hyd winch in my loader frame. I can't imagine having a tractor without one. I also have a mod 9 gearmatic that is pto driven. I have absolutely no problem yarding 2' logs that are 40 ft long. I did build some winches in the 80's that were pto driven 3pt units. The people I sold them to have been happy with them.

I also mounted in my loader frame that is an 8000lb hyd. There is no way to tell you how handy this unit is.

I have a norse logging winch powered by the PTO. It is fast and powerful. most hydraulic and electric winches are too slow for hauling wood unless you don't have much wood or lots of time, they are however good for occasional use, and much cheaper than PTO driven logging winches.

I have a small Warn Works 3700 to pull my tractor out when I get stuck and a larger 7500 one to pull trees over. I also mounted a 2" receiver on my utility trailer to use one of them to pull stuff as needed, and a plug in the back of my truck to power the winch on the back of the truck if needed. Very handy.
