Will UAW Strike?

Oh, I’m pretty sure we’ve seen it all from California now, and “ALL” is not a good thing!

Unfortunately, I was never able to see California as a young man, I never got there until I was in my 60s and by that time the wackos had pretty much ruined as much of the state as they possibly could

I usually wimp out and go another way at Christmas, but it's my preferred route to Denver in the summer. There's very little cell phone coverage, so a 13 yo girl will actually talk to her dad on a drive like that. They supposedly don't use planes to look for speeders anymore, so it can be a quicker route sometimes. Very empty, very peaceful (and did I mention no cell coverage), but not a place to get stuck in the winter.
That same Thanksgiving storm claimed the life of a HS teammate of mine in that area. They didn't find him until Spring, iirc. I just wish we knew he was making the trip, too. We could have made a caravan. RIP, Steve.

Sorry to hear about your friend. People from more populated and less severe places can't really grasp the danger. I've had to overnight in the pickup more than once. I like to keep the tank over half full, even on the interstate, in the winter. Luckily both times were close enough to civilization that a tank of gas & a couple of sleeping bags were enough. We obviously wouldn't have survived in an EV. It doesn't matter if the charging station is "only" 200 more miles if the closed or impassable roads are between it and me. Running the cabin heater can really suck down the EV battery. ICE all the way in a situation like that.

There is always more to the story…

Utility worker safety has become so bad that the Utilities are hiring uniformed armed off duty law enforcement paying $100 an hour to protect crews or even individuals… seen it several times including this week on my street where PGE had an individual marking the street for underground gas lines with 2 uniformed armed off duty LEO standing watch in Black Sedan with light bar illuminated…

$800 a day to follow utility and news crews around the city…

New law in SF is it is never permitted for armed security guard to use leathal force for property crimes… so observe and report???

So - are property crimes up or down in SF?

I don't get the property crimes law, are you saying if someone is stealing/destroying your property, you can't do anything but watch?
I wonder if well to do people/lawmakers are subject to same law?
LMFAO

Furthermore, I am hearing if you try to intervene and stop someone from stealing property, that person may very well be arrested.

Beam me up, Scotty.

Better leave no witnesses......

Men can have babies.
The world can be powered with solar panels.

Those are my favorites from the reeducation camps.

The electric cars & trucks are plausible, but we will pay 5X for electricity and have to redo our electrical grid a build hundreds more power plants.
I think there are like 8 million people on earth and I guess I thought that all 8 million were born from a woman and 0 were born from a man, but I don't keep up with all this ridiculousness this day and age, I'm out of touch and apparently glad of it.

Go back and read again. JD power has multiple reports. The one Hay Dude posted was an Initial Quality report (its right in the name).
I know that it says initial quality, but look two lines below and it says problems per 100 vehicles.

Up and you have a 1 in 20 chance of being a victim and New York is safer than San Francisco…

At the Federal building workers are being told to work from home because it’s not safe coming to work… letter carriers are refusing routes based on letter carrier assaults and robberies, porch pirates have free reign…

Utility workers now have armed off duty police escorts.

It all comes down to the philosophy material loss never justifies physically injuring someone caught in the act unless you can’t escape AND under threat of bodily injury.

Police don’t investigate property crime and having clear video footage and witness means nothing.

Those wishing to file for insurance are directed to do so online.

Many small businesses simply give up… perps steal a car and drive it through a storefront… sometimes just to steal cigarettes.

Mob flash gangs storm a high end store and carry out everything not nailed down and employees have been fired for confronting because the high cost of a workers comp case.

I have personally seen all of the above… a guy with a duffle goes to the market and fills it with liquer to the point he can hardly carry and walks out and the store manager said third time this week and it’s Wednesday… said he submitted his letter to resign and 2 months later the CVS is closed…

Read the article I posted earlier. It doesn't differentiate between things like connecting to the entertainment systems and total engine failure. Problems 'per 100 vehicles' is just defining how the numbers are represented in the graph. It says nothing about what is measured and when it is measured.

End of week report from Fain. It sounds like he hopes to expand the strike to non-automotive companies even.

Wow. Just plain wow.

If he could expand to a general work stoppage I imagine it would get more traction as I hear very little about the UAW here and everyone where the subject has come up is ambivalent with only Tesla being bought new... not a week goes by with out another paper plate Tesla in the parking lot...

These crime problems are related to the non-punishment of crimes.
Foolish, selfish, unrealistic people vote for these Mayors, Governors & DA’s that appoint people who are soft on crime.
Crime explodes, people are killed, property is lost, businesses leave the area.

Shocking.
