I got to listen to two Rivian drivers circle-jerk one another at my youngest's soccer practice; that was fun.

EV's are like a parasite. When their host is almost dead (EV thread hundreds of pages long that rehashes stuff over and over) they jump to another thread.

But understandable. People want to justify what they do.

There is an element of trying to educated those who "don't think right". Just like the "Re-education camps" that many of the "progressive far left" want for the "deplorables".

We can learn a lot from the Chinese. Glad they support our universities.

Ok, forgetting EVs, they/we have the technology to make a basic vehicle that could probably push 60+ mpg, that is still useful. An old style S10/Ranger/Isuzu/whatever, an 80ish HP turbo diesel, minimum extra BS, and you would have an amazing cheap vehicle, but nobody in the 1st world would buy it. Heck, a Lada Nivi has 80 hp, gets 37 mph, and a MSRP of $12,000(is, it's 1,217,000 rubles). If your stripped some unnecessary accessories, and with that maybe 15-25% of the weight, you would probably outdo these micro hybrids. As a base, it runs 90 mph, so the true is 400 hp isn't 100% necessary.

Wait just a cotton pickin minute, it says "Inspired by California"! Does that mean you're going to poke yourself in the butt with a hepatitis infected needle when you sit down in it or step in feces? :ROFLMAO:
Maybe the move to electric with incentives…

Many can’t realize the perk of single occupant in carpool at rush hour or for a period not subject to bridge tolls is for those that need to traverse a place on SF Bay Area highways.

Quite a few Docs were early adopters and the Doc parking has drastically changed in make up… long gone are the expensive German and Italian imports and a smattering of Cadillacs.

As California goes so goes the nation as you can stall but the inevitable happens.

In a side note OGE says it needs 22% rate increase because of higher costs including impacts of solar.

PGE also says demand is increasing due to electrification and EV

So which is it… need more money to provide more electricity or need more money because people are using less electricity???

Men can have babies.
The world can be powered with solar panels.

Those are my favorites from the reeducation camps.

The electric cars & trucks are plausible, but we will pay 5X for electricity and have to redo our electrical grid a build hundreds more power plants.

When you finally leave California could you shut the door on your way out? Please, grab @Muhammad and his family, because I'm pushing California into the Pacific.

Well, I'm going to push until the inevitable heart attack, but maybe my sacrifice will not be in vain.

The thing I dislike about “incentives” is that is just a Friendly way of saying “taxes”. You tax people on their paychecks to give money (incentives) to people to buy something the G____ment is twisting your arm to buy. Sounds a bit “fascistic”, too.

Yeah, but the “docs” are the ones that can afford to buy EV’s. They can afford to be trendy or virtue signal. Average unwashed slobs like me can’t. We are stuck being deplorable polluters.

Let’s hope not. California also had trendy things that crashed & burned (Roller blades, contemporary ranch houses, tofu)

I prefer freedom & choices always over “incentives” and govt/private money grabs. We did an amazing job cleaning up the current ICE vehicles, our water, soil and air.
Trying to achieve perfection will drive us back into the stone ages.

It amazes me that some people still think California is progressive, look how the state has failed, at everything they’ve done, starting with one of the most beautiful states in the union and turning it into a crap hole,

I haven‘t read far enough ahead to know if someone pointed it out yet, but this is not an initial quality report, per se. It’a a report of problems per 100 vehicles. According to the chart, Ram is the most trouble free. Compared to ice vehicles, Tesla ranks in the bottom 3, with only Audi and Chrysler having more problems.

How much of the Strike is a last stand to the old way of producing automobiles in the United States?

It’s interesting that some of the strongest unions are ones like the Nurses and Teachers and they tend to already be at the high end off the scale in wages and benefits here.

The auto industry revolutionized worker pay more than a hundred years ago when Ford started paying $5 a day… unheard of at the time.

Go back and read again. JD power has multiple reports. The one Hay Dude posted was an Initial Quality report (its right in the name).

There is always more to the story…

Utility worker safety has become so bad that the Utilities are hiring uniformed armed off duty law enforcement paying $100 an hour to protect crews or even individuals… seen it several times including this week on my street where PGE had an individual marking the street for underground gas lines with 2 uniformed armed off duty LEO standing watch in Black Sedan with light bar illuminated…

$800 a day to follow utility and news crews around the city…

New law in SF is it is never permitted for armed security guard to use leathal force for property crimes… so observe and report???

If I would have posted that...

I would have had the post removed and a timeout.

Privilege.
For some reason my phone will not allow me to open the X attachment

Never mind, I found it……

Wasn’t as salacious, as I was thinking it would be

I'm heading up that way this weekend. When we drove the Prius Prime, we made one stop from Ft. Worth to SF. It's about 12-13 hour drive. The range is about 650 miles. We usually head north up 81 once we get to Wichita (technically Salina) KS.

With an EV, it would take at least one more stop, probably 2.

We took that road from Murdo through Valentine, NE a bunch of times. Had to spend the night in Murdo around Thanksgiving of '93 due to a bad storm.

I usually wimp out and go another way at Christmas, but it's my preferred route to Denver in the summer. There's very little cell phone coverage, so a 13 yo girl will actually talk to her dad on a drive like that. They supposedly don't use planes to look for speeders anymore, so it can be a quicker route sometimes. Very empty, very peaceful (and did I mention no cell coverage), but not a place to get stuck in the winter.

Just an example when you think you have seen it all… always something new to defy logic and shows how twisted things are.

My thought is business is paying lots of money for uniformed armed off duty police who have now been mandated by law they cannot stop property crimes…
