Which Gooseneck Trailer?

/ Which Gooseneck Trailer? #41
I have a Gatormade GN 20' + 5' deck over. It weighs 5700# and grosses at 16000#. I have a Ferguson To-35 with a Howse 5' bush hog, front end loader, and loaded tires. I tow with a 2012 Ford F-350 ccsb 4x4 6.7l diesel srw. The total combined weight full of fuel is 21750#. You won't win any drag races but it handles it easily. The reason I went with Gatormade was the ramp design.---------------------------------

Pictures please.

I went and picked up my Gatormade 25 plus 5 with the mega ramps and I had them outfit mine with the 2 10k super single axles with 17.5 tires instead of the tandem duals with 16" tires, I am very impressed with this trailer, everything about it from the clean welds to the powder coated finish, I was also impressed with how my 2500 HD with the 6.0 gas motor pulled the trailer, 70 mph with no trailer behind me going up to get it I got around 15 mpg, pulling the trailer home at 70mph I got 13 mpg and you couldn't even tell it was back there. Gatormade has some really good prices going right now, they made me a deal I couldn't pass up.

Where did you pick it up at? Gainesville or Ocala?
I would like to see one with the super single axles and wheels

They arranged for it to make it as far as Byron Georgia and I drove up and picked it up from there. Are you near Gainesville? Charlie.

Nice looking trailer.

Thanks, I really am pleased with everything about it and the pierced frame with low profile deck is a bonus, and the powder coating looks so much better than regular old black paint, I just hope it ( the powder coating ) holds up. Charlie.

Nice trailer. Do you know the empty weight on it? What is the GVWR - 20k?

They claim somewhere around 8k but I don't know for sure till I put it on the scale, they claim it's a 24.9k on the GVWR.

If it's using a pair of 10K axles how can it be rated larger than 20K?

My 28+4 20K dual wheeled trailer with Hankook 7.50x16 14 ply tires weighs 6800#.

Like every other pissing contest it's all how you measure. The manufacturers who "cheat" assume the tongue weight in their numbers.

That's what I thought was going on. :)

It's not "wrong" but I'm suspicious to say the least. It makes it tough to compare trailers but atleast you can just subtract the trailer weight and know what your payload can be.

Yep. My first concern is weight on the tandem. Secondary is how much weight you gotta put on the tongue to haul whatever it is you are trying to haul without overloading said tandems.

So to me, a 10K tandem is a 20K trailer. :)

I feel the same way, but I was asked what the GVWR was and I got it right off the sticker, I am satisfied that it will haul more than I will be putting on it, for that matter I probably could have got by with a 14k trailer but I am kinda like a big kid and wanted a little better toy and they made me a deal that I couldn't pass up, actually cheaper than most 14k trailers around here.
