I thought these were "bottom" plows. But it seems that molt board and bottom plows are almost the same. Could they be called "Sub Soiler's?)

I think I want to make attachments to hold them on the side of my back hoe. Then use them to stir up the garden area. Maybe that is a waste of time.

like to hear from some of you folks on what you would do and what you call them.

Probably sweeps for a hiller/bedder. They do cultivator duty between rows or in tire tracks. (slice root from weeds under soil surface, loosen earth packed by tires)

Many would call those "Cultivator Shovels" attached to a shank.

They have seen widespread use in cultivating farm lands. They will come in many different shapes and sizes and have different names.:

Yep. They are designed to run shallow enough to scrape and breakup the soil and weeds above. They aren't beefy enough to run deep.

Thank you, your replies are appreciated. :thumbsup:

Could the be called "sub soilers" as well or that a whole different thing??

Hate to just see them not able to do something. But will put them close to end of my list of "Must Does".

Thanks Again :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Did they come off a David Bradley? I think I had some similar to that when I had a couple of old David Bradley walk behind tractors.

Do a Google on Cultivator shovels and shanks. :)

You will find many different combinations which serve different purposes. It is a very versatile agricultural implement.:)

Cultivator, not subsoiler!!!

Those are sweeps. Sub-soilers are big honking "L" shaped monsters that require massive amounts of horsepower to stir up the soil and prevent compaction.

If you're day dreaming you can wipe out alot of crop. Don't ask me how I know this.
