I have been looking for a switch. What I would like is something that cannot be switched on without effort, for example needing to push in some type of unlocking mechanism before the switch can be turned on. I would also like it to have a light that is on when the switch is on. There are very, very few instances where I would like to disable the seat switch but there are times. But I cannot find such a switch.

I did consider a switch but... a switch can fail or be hit w/o you knowing. I figured me having to actually take a moment to bypass was safer as the bypass could not happen by accident.
like you said, very few times I want the switch disabled, but the few times I need it disabled its safer for me.
when climbing a horse manure pile to rotate it a sudden bump can cause tractor to shut down. pretty friggin dangerous to have no power then.
and when I mount MMM in 2 days I take 30 seconds and switch in play.
it all depends on YOUR needs.
the seat switch don't care about your needs. its there for legal issues.
make it work for you.

That's why I was looking for a switch that you need to do more than just push. For example, I used to work in a factory and the on switches on equipment generally have some safety feature that prevents the switch from being pushed.

Typing this out I was thinking "too bad there no radio shack near me" and I looked and found this RadioShack 12VDC 3P SPST ON-OFF Illuminated Safety Toggle Switch, 20A

These are heavy duty switches, plus the safety cover

It would be quite simple to have a switch in protected location ..Using a double pole single throw (DPST) toggle switch you can use one set of contacts to act as seat occupied switch (seat safety switch) and second set of terminals turn on a warning light that seat switch is disabled...

Or just use a momentary bypass switch you hold down when you want to disable.
When you let go, the safety switch is back in the loop.
No forgetting, no checking lights

I got a bunch of unused dash lights on my GC2400, could easily task one for this. utilize the connectors I just did and if switch fails in seconds I could mechanically be back to switch in play.
may look at that, is an area beside seat hard to accidentally touch that is approx 8" from the switch.

I thought about that prob is the few times I need it disabled I may not be able to hold switch as I rotate around to check stuff.
in all honesty switch will be active most of the time, and when disabled would prob only be 15 minutes once or twice a snowstorm and when tilling only 2 minutes a week on one specific garden I maintain in one specific berry row.

The reason I want a switch to bypass the seat switch has to do with running implements off the PTO where I would like to not sit in the seat. Right now when this is needed I zip tie the switch lever down. It works.

I'm trying to figure out where to put the switch. Not many good places to add a switch on these things. In the end if I put a switch in I'd like it to look like it was meant to be there.

Looked at neighbors GC1725M TLB and think there are 2 spots that would work, they have room under the body for switch base.

this area is below seat and on the edge of the decal there is room under for switch base. I would suspect this would be best spot, not easy to hit it as its out of way but can be accessed easily.

this second pic is right rear behind seat, but I'm not sure how seat swivel for backhoe would work.
