What a Machine

I talked to a contractor today who owns a landscape business.

His firm has a CUTLB, a Skidsteer, and a PT 2425.

His favorite machine by far is the PT for every day work. It runs circles around either of the other machines.

It sounded pretty inspirational. He did say though that the seat gets hot while doing backhoe work. I also had a concern about sitting over an engine.

Are the new 425/2425's upgraded from similar 2 year old machines? I thought the new machines had better wheel drives.

i know that the 425 wheel motors were improved, the tip height was increased and some people think that the rearrangement of engine is better. we also make a living with the pt 425. what many people forget most peoples garden gates are 48" and this machine can deliver 800# for sure and probably in the right condition up to a thousand pound lift, there are not too many machines with that ideal foot print being able to deliver that kind of power at that economical price. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a very good point, Hans. I take my PT425 into my garden every fall and tear it up. I use the small bucket to top dress the entire thing with mulch and compost and to double dig some of the compacted areas before tilling. The gate is 48" wide and I have no problem getting in or out.
