Well Im confused but happy. GC2410 blinker.

Was bored so I decided to trouble shoot why the blinkers blew the 15amp fuse every time. I checked and cleaned the switch and connecters and inspected wires. Removed the one relay closest to the engine and bam..blinkers work again. Put it back and bam, blows fuse.
So i left the relay our and out everything pack together. Works great now without the relay....but why?

On my 2310, the blinker seems to be tied in with the mickey mouse flashers (selected yellow light flashes, but the other stays on continuously); does that relay maybe something to do with that? Do your flashers still work normally?

bet w/o relay the blinker works but the solid amber on opposite side stays dark.
been long time since i had to work that relay but I have posted about wiring broken going into it I had to fix.

Yes the flashers work, left and right blinkers work, all lights work. So when I out the relay back in as soon as i put the left or right blinker on it blows the fuse. .Thats whats confusing.

At this point would you not suspect the relay is faulty?
Using the same numbers on the old relay, check the DigiKey website for a replacement/substitute.

Im trying to figure out how to test it for functionaliy without putting it back on the other side. I do suspect it is bad.

Replace the fuse temporarily with a 12 volt seal beam headlight.
When the short or overload is active, the headlight will glow somewhere between dim and bright.
Wiggle wires, unhook things, et. until the bulb flickers or gets very dim.

crack in relay case can allow moisture in and fuses will blow when triggered.in my case that specific relay in this post.

That's a possibility but I've never seen that.

I've never seen that. More likely a short further down the line.

You mean like a starter relay? Ever had one fail?

Sure. Never went to a dead short tho.
