What, no 'after' pics? I guess you don't like taking pictures.

Yeah... com'm SA, we want to see 'no gap' pics. I don't care if you have only been doing this for a couple plus weeks.

Don't know why I don't take pictures of the item when completed. I guess I'm just interested in showing the technique. Knowing where to apply the heat is easy, how much heat is the trick.
Here's one I lucked out on. When I built my gooseneck adapter the one beam was not 90-degrees. So a little heated wedge, brought it back to 90-degrees.

Has something changed in the way steel plate is made? At one time I had a job in a Long Beach fabricating plant that took large coils of steel weighing tons, and ran them through huge machines to flatten and cut into plate. I can still remember the piles of cut plate, they certainly did not have 1/4" dips.

All metal will bend from its own weight, it's just a matter of how much and how you support it.

Stretcher leveling. Most of the time, it's excellent. But some steel gets away with residual stresses that leveling can't correct.
