Welding my tractor hood

You guys are OVER THINKING this minor little problem!!!
Soooo very simple little quick fix for this!!!
Usually I don’t reveal any of my supper good tricks, but this time I’ll go ahead and help you guys out and tell you.
But you’all have to swear to NEVER tell anyone else!!!
Ok, here goes, ….. GORILLA GLUE….

Well...here's what I would do. I'm a do-it-yourself hack and use what I have.
I have that tractor here, Grandfather bought new. I just checked and looks like 18ga sheet metal steel (double check me). The hood bottom edge is folded over 1/2".
1) remove hood
2) hammer that cutout flat where it was cut.
3) hold sheet metal scrap behind cut-out area with an inch below.
4) trace around with scribe (sharpened nail).
5) cut like drawing, so patch matches hole with 1" extra, and 1" either side (upside down T).
6) inside hood cut half-way through folded over, 1 inch either side. Use new piece as template.
7) now holding piece in place should be perfect fit
8) in vice, fold over that 1 inch so it's 1/2"...hammer but not fully closed yet.
9) wire wheel clean about 1/2" or so all around area inside hood cut-out. Also clean patch.
10) patch in place, now hammer that folded area onto hood. If done correctly at this point should be tight to hood and patch in place to match.
11) braze from backside in place. Hold patch with C clamps, removing of course as you braze. If you can weld thin sheet metal...that's OK.
12) hammer flat, any distortions, lightly grind or sandpaper.
13) it probably will take a tiny amount of filler from outside.
14) clean, prime, paint area
15) Chevy engine orange is very close in color
It's not a showcar! It should work fine.
