welding bucket hooks

Wondering if there would be any issue with welding bucket hooks with the loader hooked to the tractor? I figured I would just disconnect the batter terminala and start welding. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I will be using an arc welder.

You probably would not have a problem if your electrode were close to the welding. However...When I welded mine on I felt the way you did and just took the bucket off, then welded on it.

You can do it either way and shouldn't have any problems.
I've always welded right on the tractor as long as the ground is pretty close to where you are welding. Take the battery cable off if that makes you feel better, which I've forgotten to do many times with no problems there either.

I had my Bobcat dealer weld on rear stabilizer plates for my S300 skidsteer. Before, I had tried not to weld anything directly to my CUT or SS or at least disconnected the battery. The guy doing the welding says he never disconnects the battery and has be doing welding for years.

Just ground it close ( and well) near the point of weld

x2. Just put your ground clamp on the bucket.
