Welder buying question?

   / Welder buying question? #11
I wish I had known about getting a separate power unit with the desired add-ons before I bought. My units are not too big, so it's not a big deal, but I'm glad you brought up the idea. Some day if I move up to larger equip. I will do it your way.

<font color=blue>"would recomend a hobart handler 175"</font color=blue>

That's what I have. It's now available for less than when I got mine and in a package including a cart, gloves, helmet, slag chipper, wire brush, etc., at Tractor Supply Co. My package included a cart only and retailed for a few dollars more. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

i have welded for many years.have had a millermatix 250x + a few lincolns. the hobart handlers work as good as any mig out there even without infinate voltage control.e-bay is the place to get one cheap.just call the e-bay dealer and say"i dont want to bid on line so just give me the absolute bottom line} bingo-best deal going[even below the reserve price sometimes].these hadlers are very smooth and stable and compact.jmo.bws

I've been eyeballing a Millermatic 251. My current mig welder is a 110v unit that will not do anything heavy. Of course its original use was for body work(panels) and it paid for itself in just one car.
