Ballast Weight box idea worked awesome

I had a old safe laying around the shop and decided to make a weight box for the l3240 and I have to say it came out great the safe measured 26x26x24 and was about 1" thick steel all the way around I'd say about 800 + lbs just thought I would post this because usually locksmiths or safe dealers like us always have old heavy one sitting around for really cheap money

Good use of recycling. I have a large data safe about 4'x4'x 4' I tried selling with no buyers. It weighs over 1 K. Never thought of using it as a ballast box.

It pays to ballast.
That's the perfect ballast box - you can throw chains in there if you ever need more weight.

Makes a really nice ballast.

When they tore down the old church, they buried the safe that was in the basement. Walls and door must have been 6 inches thick, about 3 1/2 feet square and stood about 5 feet tall. What a waste. Of course, it would have taken a pretty good implement to lift it outta there...
