Warning for all

I will not shoot a thief. It is illegal in most states...pretty sure legal in Texas....but...

Anyway, not going to take a life over “stuff”. Not wired that way and not worth the cost of legal fees to defend myself.

If someone breaks into the house, then I assume my life is threatened. No cycling the pump ( really stupid thing to do as it gives away my location....internet commandos will disagree) and no warning shots. You have less than a second to make the shot and do not know what the threat has for weapons. BTW, a shotgun at house range has little pattern to play with.

I have both the house and tool barn/shop alarmed.

Agree. Stuff can be replaced. My safety and the safety of my family will be defended to the fullest extent of my barrel. Thank God, Self Defense is still legal in this country.

I just paid $150 for an 8 lb container of H-110, ammo is too expensive to be firing warning shots.

Stuff isn't worth taking a life over, agreed. Ever watch the tv show "Stop The Threat"? They have real life scenarios etc. and the occasional lawyer present and they all say the same thing, each bullet that leaves your gun has $100K attached to it.

I keep tracking devices concealed in the things I care about, preferably wired to 12V.

Just a mechanical observation here: When the 'pure pro's encounter that southern obstacle, do they turn around and go home?

No because they are already here! This state is a sanctuary state and will NOT inform immigration when any felon is released.

They got through the gate simply by opening the code keypad and triggering the gate. Way too simple. With the exception of the Polaris, which was purchased to replace the one lost in last years fire (along with his house) this same equipment has been there for longer than I have, and that is almost 10yrs now. This area has been virtually crime free for decades.

I hesitated to post how, because the Sheriff's asked me not to.

When I first got to this town I could and did (accidentally) leave all sorts of valuable stuff in the back of my truck. Once left my chain saw and all sorts of stuff for it, in the back (total brain fart, forgot it was there) and went shopping all over town with it back there. Never bothered. Letely with the different types I have seen wandering through town, I don't think that would be the case.

All the real criminals go to Law School.
I think prisons should be placed next to/in landfills.
Have them sort garbage 7 days a week for recyclables.

Now, there's an idea! Also, they could cleanup the roadsides like the chaingangs 70 years ago. Prison should not be easy-time. Convicts should never want to go back.

Guess the moral of that story is make sure they don't get back up. Years ago when my wife was single living by herself in Houston Tx, she had an Irish Wolf Hound. Someone tried breaking into her apartment while she was sleeping. Guy popped a window open open from the the fire escape. Guy got half way through the window when the dog went after him. Chased the guy into a park and pinned him by the throat.

Wife called the cops. Then cops came and got her to go down to the park to get the dog to release the perp. :D She got sued by the guy and had to go to court over it. Judge told the guy he got what he deserved and through the case out :D

We have two German shepherd's now, brother and sister. Both were trained for there dispositions. Ours (female) is a service/ therapy dog. She will alert if someone comes in unannounced, but is more of a lover. The male who stays with our daughter and son in law, is a personal protection dog.

When ever we go on vacation, he comes and stays at our house. There's only 4 people that can command that dog. Me, my wife, daughter and son in law. Come in announced and he will attack.

That is a good judge. To many judges today side with the criminal these days..
