Yes, thieves are right to ignore alarms. That's what makes mine so special. In fact, they are so loud, that my customers don't even like them, but they miss the point! I have never, ever told a customer that Police response was coming in a timely manner. Just that the matter is being dealt with and someone is aware of the break in. Sometimes (remarkably) the Police do show up quickly.
It's actually the insurance companies that often demand a monitored system which is great for the alarm companies but really quite stupid because there is absolutely no criteria for quality or any other stipulations.
