Not quite a DIY but more of a conversion. Looking at the hydraulic side of a V plow with double acting cylinders and I'm trying to figure out what solenoid valves to get. I have the bobcat 7 pin to 14 pin and the electrical figured out. I'm looking at using some type of 2 spool double acting valve so I have independent wing control (using the joystick buttons) with crossover relief to protect the cylinders, what I can't figure out without having all the parts in front of me is do I need a closed center or open center valve?

I'm looking at one of these two, if anyone has other suggestions I'm all ears.

I made a V work on my tractor BUT the loader valve stays with the tractor when the loader itself is removed. The boom raise function controls one wing and the bucket curl does the other.

I'm curious what your capable of switching from your auxiliary switches on the joysticks and how do you make it somewhat intuitive?
Obviously you need to send oil to your "multiplyer" then to each wing with only 1 selected at a time. 1 of these wings will be the normally open (on) and the other will be active with a j/s button.
Now will it take just one button to move the normally open wing then 2 simultaneously to operate the other?
I also wonder if you're selector/multiplier valve matters if it's open/closed center.

I’m trying to figure out if the valve needs to be open or closed center.

The bobcat controls support 6 functions from the joystick buttons. I’d need 4 (left in/out and right in/out)

Will this valve be in series with rest of circuit or fed oil via energizing or operating a valve already on the tool cat?

If continuous flow then need open center.

If momentary flow supplied by an existing directional control can probably use either.

Cross over valves do not work well on double acting cylinders. They extend but not retract do to difference in areas- volumes.
