drop to a command prompt and type ping TractorByNet.com | Compact Tractors | John Deere, Kubota, New Holland
it does the lookup and attempts to PING it...
PING= Packet Inter Net Groper

One note about using the IP address to get to a website.
It does not always work.
In some cases the webmaster of a site or the hosting company will use host header translations and when you send TractorByNet.com | Compact Tractors | John Deere, Kubota, New Holland he/she sends you to a virtual webserver on that physical server. This is becoming more and more common as getting IP addresses becomes more difficult due to the runout....

I've only seen this on "Windoze" (IIS) servers...I have used .htaccess on UNIX virtual hosts to accomplish basically the same thing but in most cases it depends on how the domain name server is configured...and then it depends on the DNS the requests get routed through...
Today I think it may have been a conbination of issues...

yeah---a friend of mine has a hosting company he has a combination of IIS and Nix apache..
with 126 IP addresses and 500+ websites he has to use host header..but it is a challenge...
his provider can't keep up with he requests and he really does not want to renumber...
