Treeman,

I am ebarassed to say I have not finished it yet. Seems to keep getting put on the back burner. Even though it stays on my mind all the time. Because I have to keep moving it. I did some more work on it two days ago. I think all I need are the hydraulics and Ill be good to go. Thats the most expensive part anyway. I have to order the hydro block from kubota then plum it in. when I get the parts it should only take a couple more days.......that is unless something doesnt work like I think it should. But hey that never happens it ALWAYS just as planned.

Let me know what you come up with and I will keep you posted

well i'm new here took interest in this thread ..figured i'd toss in my two cents. for a small cheap shear i'd go for something like this

i've got plans for a small grapple too a bit more entailed. and for the guy with the missing turbocad. try google sketchup. there's a free version you can play with it's all 3d with good help forums but you can only save picture or sketchup files less you want to pay $500 heh.

Are you wanting to cut trees down, or be able to reach up into trees and trim branches, etc.

Here is my limb cutter/tree snipper. I can turn it any way I want.

I would be more interested in reaching up in the air and trimming them. We had the worst ice storm in our history this January and it left a lifetime supply of broken trees. I have taken down a few potertial widowmakers by getting a rope around the dangling parts and tearing them off with my pickup. I would like something that didn't bust up the trees so bad or tear up their bark.

If I need the whole tree on the ground I can take care of that with a chainsaw.
