Tree hogging with a CUT

All politics aside, but still pretty much off topic, I'll have to admit that in my neck of the woods where 'progress' and development have hardly slowed, it seems that there is nothing more abhorrent to the modern man that a standing tree.
They are widening a local highway that I travel to get to my property and they have cut, yanked and knocked down some of the biggest and most beautiful trees around. They bulldoze them into piles and then a track hoe feeds them into this monstrous machine that grinds them up into enormous smoking piles of mulch.
Don't get me wrong, the machinery and technology are cool, and I'm no 'environmentalist' but the ways we've developed to rapidly destroy our trees is a bit horrifying when you think about it:

You know, its pretty hard not to vote for a man sitting on a tractor. And yet, the effect of Hillary on a tractor would seem just the opposite, yuck.
Can't see McCain on a tractor at all. And even though Obama is a city slicker and more liberal than I care for, among the three I'd say he's hands down the best looking on a tractor. That has to be worth something.....
Of course THAT tractor would make most any of us look good.
