Des anyone have a 5 series tractor and an MX10 or HX10 that they transport between mowing fields?

I've got a standard deck over gooseneck that has a 102" deck width. The mower is said to be around 126" Transport wide. can I transport that mower on the trailer legally? Or would it be better to just drive the tractor 30 miles one way?

I'd assume each State has their own versions of width laws. With that said, I transport my M9540 with a JD1008 (10ft) cutter 10 miles one way to/from our farm. I've met two State Police and not been stopped. That has nothing to do with whether I'm legal or not though.

In the end, I'm gonna vote NO, you are not legal trailering it without special flagging or permits. Pulling it with the tractor changes all that.

Thowie,
From what I have read you are planning on custom mowing on various properties. That means frequent trailering and what I do is limit my implements to 8ft width. I would either use 8ft maximum width or folding equipment. It is not that you can't move larger equipment but it is easier to move the smaller stuff.

10 ft wide is not legal being hauled without a permit in all the states I've hauled equip in.

Yeah - exactly why I just bought a MX8.

If you have to haul a lot and have larger mowing jobs - look at a batwing, they transport pretty well. They are heavy, but you can get some serious mowing done.
