Trailer mishap

A tractor in front, and one behind likely could have gotten him out. But, it is a big trailer, apparently a deep ditch/bridge. It is just as well to let the "professionals" handle it.

Also, the local farmers probably don't want the liability of making the situation worse, or breaking something.

That is too bad. Was this the only road out of the event? If so, you probably had lots of frustrated event goers for a while.

There is another route out of the site, yes. Fortunately, the event had been over for a day, and the only people on site were staff who were cleaning up and tearing down.

not when cornering or turning into curves and when the trailer is 3 ft wider,:confused3:

With a bumper hitch trailer, the bumper moves toward the outside of the curve and helps keep the trailer on the road. With a gooseneck, that doesn't happen and they definitely want to "cut corners". It doesn't help that goosenecks are often longer trailers too.

That's why I, personally, have refused to pull out some people out of the snowy ditch. If its not a straight forward pull. I a wrecker will only cost $60-100 around here, I could cause multiples of that amount in damages in a faction of a second. Some times I help by pulling them out, some times I help them by calling a wrecker. Just depends.

Yeah, the "professionals" should have insurance to cover their mistakes ;-) (Local towing company "lost" a fire department aerial truck while towing it for maintenance. A total loss and the FD was without an aerial for a year.)

Looking at the map if he had taken it wide in the corner before the bridge he would have been fine but that would have required paying attention and thinking ahead. Sometimes companies don't think they have to pay extra for that.

It can be done. After all, the same truck likely delivered the carts.
