I have chosen the root grappler, my main goal was to remove trees and shrub from fields, they are made for ground penetration and jamming stem or roots between the tines in order to rip them off the ground, works really good for that, the tines are small but robust. its a middle ground between both above (longer then the rake smaller then a rock skeleton grappler... I can do everything else like carry logs, pile of brush (can grab more then the tractor can handle) it also works well for pulling rocks off the ground. I can see the advantage of two independent lid but I rarely have a issue with mine when caring shrub ... Most of my trail clearing work I do with it consist of pushing things off trails, grabbing stuff I have cut and moving it to the side and the occasional three or bush removal.
What kind of soil you have I know is Glacial till but is it more clay or sandy ?
