Tractor Supply\'s quick hitchs

I have desided that my wife will buy me one for Christmas (She does not know this yet but that is another story)
Are they good quality or should I look somewhere else for one?

Had one, returned it. If the pins were all in the same position on all your implements, they would be great. However they are not and the attachment is not great. Pat's Easy Change would be a better investment.

Do they sell those at Tractor Supply are at orther farm/tractor supply stores or is it mail order only?

Contrary to the previous comment, I have the iMatch and find it very good to use (not a big deal to get attachments to fit with some ingenuity and welding done). Once the attachments are fitted to the quick hitch, no more hassle. Just back up to it, lift the 3pt and go. It's a great experience. The TSC hitch's are near the same as others, and probably a good buy IMO. I think they are SpeeCo brand.

I am getting my loader forks fitted with the right pins at the welders today so I can pick them up with the quick hitch. Its a fast way to change from forks to ballast to carry-all to rear blade to rotary cutter (off to hook up PTO), without leaving the tractor. I get lazy as time goes by. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm trying to sell my Cat 1/2 Quickhitch Chuck. I'm told it's a SpeeCo. Comes with an almost universal assortment of aftermarket floating/swiveling toplink adapters too. If you've got any plans to be in my area this winter, stop in and take a look.

Most TSC stores have them in stock. They are well made but the top pin did not match up on some of my implements also. Something that you have to pay over $100 for should fit, without having to weld on your implements. I am a fair hand at welding and fabricating and could have modified the implements, but some people are not and this is not the quick hitch for them. I am glad that Beenthere is happy with his i-match but I was not impressed with the TSC hitch.

That was not a problem with the hitch, but with the implements, alot of implement manufactures followed NO standard on pin spacing when making thier stuff.

I also have an I-Match and would not be without it!

The QH is great if your implements fit. The best aproach with the QH is make sure the implements you buy will fit. Measure the future implement before purchase, if it doesn't fit look at another Mfg.

Funny how things about the 3ph doesn't fit. Just for kicks, I looked up the Speeco website and found this page:

I have both the TSC Quick Hitch and Pat's system. PAT's is more versatile and will fit any cat. 1 implement. In my experience you have to get off the tractor regardless of which one you buy. I prefer PAT's because of its versatility. There is no way that I could have attached my sicklemower with the TSC QH so I had to take the QH off to use the sickle. Also the QH requires adding special sleeves to the lift pins on your tools. One set came with it, but you need a set for each tool. As I recall they where about $18/set. Both the QH and PAT's made life easier. Hope this helps.

I looked at the TSC model this morning and I think that Pat's (which I have not seen) would be more bang for the buck.

I've never owned a quick hitch, although I know a guy in Illinois that has a great design on one. Maybe we'll see it in production some day.

I DO however own a set of the Pat's Easy Change. If I am hooking up a NON-PTO implement, I would not have to get off the tractor if I was using a quick hitch I suppose, where I do have to with Pat's. But if I have to get off the connect a PTO shaft, why not just run the hydraulic top link out and connect it at the same time? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sigh.....

I got tired of waiting for that new quick hitch to become available from you know who so I went out last week and bought a Speeco quick hitch for my JD 2210 for $169, a pretty good price from what I can tell.

Don't know if its my imagination but it looks like the Speeco quick hitches I saw before were painted black. The one I bought looks like it is powder coated.

It is in great shape except for a chip off one corner that I will touch up with some gloss black Rustoleum I have left over after repainting the tractor frame under the battery. Had a little problem with the battery JD put into the tractor. After repairing the corrosion /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I installed a sealed Optima /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Installed the quick hitch adapter bushings on my 5' Midwest rear blade pins in preparation to use the blade for the snow we are supposed to receive tomorrow here in Indiana. Sure was a lot easier to hook the blade up to the tractor with the quick hitch.

When I am through playing in the snow tomorrow I will need to try the quick hitch with my box blade.

You got a good buy on the Speeco. Thought the TSC ones were Speeco. They're about $196 at the local (and available) TSC store here.

iMatch is $225 from JD.

I've put dollies underneath my LX4 and went to a chain top link. Got it on and off without too much trouble the last time. Think I'll put dollies/castors on any attachments unless they're very light, like maybe a BB, to make them relatively easy to put on and take off. The dollies/castors allow the side-to-side movement of the attachment that you need to make it more easy to get on and off. Basically, you pull the pins, unscrew the turnbuckles to allow the arms to move out or in, and then pull off attachment or push attachment sideways. Then do the reverse to put attachment on. Gotta do the top link pin each time, too, possibly putting chain in place of it.

If I get a bunch of attachments or ones that aren't amenable to dollies/castors, I may go to Pat's system for the draft arms. Next attachment planned is the KK Carryall. Should be easy to mount castors on its 2 arms.

I bought the Speeco at the Orscheln Farm & Home in Bedford, IN. At $169 I didn't hesitate to buy it. Just finished "playing" in the snow plowing my driveway. Warming up now with some hot cocoa.

I only have a box blade and a rotary cutter and don't switch out very often. Thought about the Pat's system but couldn't justify the $ for no more than I use it.

Spent $25 for a 6' long steel prybar at Lowe's. It has a chisel end on it. Stick that end in the dirt (bar is pretty heavy) and use the bar to move the implements around to install or remove the lower 3PH arms. Just got tired of kicking on the arms with my foot and trying to use the tractor to line up the pins.

Besides, everybody needs a 6' long prybar for all sorts of tasks. Suspect it would be a pretty good root cutter with the chisel point. Has a flat surface on the other end that is about 2 1/2" in diameter that would be handy for tamping dirt in around posts.
