Tractor problem

My maccormick cx95 starts and then stops after a couple of seconds. It might take six or seven tries to get it started again after which it runs perfect . Its a 2003 model with a perkins engine. Any help would be appreciated

I looked it up, looks like made in UK, Perkins diesel. I would start with basic things...I assume it has glow plugs? If so check them and that circuit. Then have you changed filters? Sounds like glow plug problem or not getting fuel.

A diesel in reasonable mechanical condition needs a good battery/starter combination and adequate fuel delivery to start. Does your tractor have both?

If it starts & stops several times before it stays running, you have a supply problem.. is it gravity fed or does it have a lift pump?
If it has a lift pump, try to clean it.. a lot of them can come apart & have a filter inside..
Check to see if its actually working.. if not replace it.
