Well I guess you don't have to use it much for snow, but I take my tooth bar off for snow. the only other reason I can think of that supports just bolting it on would be the "re-sale" value. if you ever sell or trade in your FEL with the tractor, it might be a take-a-away in value.

Assume you are aware that if you like to smooth the dirt and gravel by back-dragging the bottom edge of the bucket, the tooth bar will impair that somewhat. Another reason to make it removable for certain projects.

Bolting it on is easier and just as secure. You never know why you might want to take it off.

For instance if I want to use clamp-on pallet forks I need to remove my Piranha.

Since getting my grapple - I don't even use my tooth bar.

Just for the back dragging alone is a good reason to bolt it on. With a box blade and the smooth edge of the front lip of the bucket you can make a pretty road instead of a little garden row look.

Just received my 60 inch bolt on TB tonight. It took about 15 minutes to install. I worked it for a couple of hours tonight digging, back dragging, and digging up a concrete patio.

I don't have much time on mine yet, but there does not seem to be any play between the bucket and tb. I am impressed by how the tb seems to be one with the bucket, being only secured by two 5/8 bolts. Mine did not come with mounting instructions, but the install was about as easy as it gets. I did put vertical down pressure on the toothbar to force the tb female wedge tightly against buckets cutting edge, then I tightened the bolts. It feels extremely solid. I weld most of my stuff that takes a beating, but I don't feel it will be necessary on this.
