I took delivery today of a new B7500 HST. Put two hours on it tonight. My first impression is WOW!
No I didn’t get the loader. Yes, I know I am going to regret it. I got R-4’s and couldn’t imagine having turf tires. The dealer liquid filled the rears. Power steering is wonderful. Four wheel drive is a must! Where is the drink holder?
First a little history. I have had my eye on a 7500 for over one year. My wife’s support has ranged from "yeah right" in the early days of my obsession; to my Valentines day present which was a check for $500+ to help with the down payment.
My first job immediately after unloading it was to turn her garden over so that she could start to plant. 30 minutes later she was ready to go and very happy. Then my daughter came home and said "cool tractor Dad". Hey Dad could you grade the driveway my car bottoms out, it’s getting real bad. Yep honey, I’ll get right on it. That took about 35 minutes. Next was the beach. It needed to be leveled and raked. On the way to that job, the Mrs. said there is a huge ant pile near my palm tree, can you do anything about that. With a huge grin, I said, I got it. With one drag of the box blade the 1 foot tall mound was toast. She said "cool". After spending nearly an hour on the beach it was beginning to get dark and I put her away for the evening.
Here’s my problem. What am I going to do on Saturday? Sure hope the neighbors need some help.
On the positive side, while the Mrs. is watching ice skating tonight I will be pouring over my Kubota manual.
Not a bad day!
