How well do you think those horse mats will hold up? I'm thinking of finding some old carpet from an installer.

They will hold up just fine. We have been using them for the horses indoors and out for many years. They are made of rubber and are 3'x4' and about 3/4" thick. They weigh 50 pounds each. My tires will give up before these horse mats.

Do you use them on flat ground or do you have some hills? I would say they are the ones I'm leaning towards. I think both of the Aquiline types have the advantage of having two strips of chains going around the tread of the tire where as the duo-grip and the double rings have sections where there isn't any chain. It may not make a difference but like I said I don't want a chain that's only touching a very limited amount of lug. But they do cost more.

The duo grip chains work well, but they ride like a baby carriage with square wheels on any kind of pavement, or hard surface........ I don't like mine except in the woods.

I too am looking to put chains on my low clearance Mahindra. Any idea how much side clearance is required for the MPCs? The local guy told me 2.5 to 3 inches. I'm wondering if he's being conservative.

I run 4-link v-bar chains on my front and rear R-4 tires. As you can see in the pic I put some sheets of OSB down to protect the cement floor. No problem using the snow blower on icy, sloping driveway or road. Now if we ever get some snow!!!

One of the local dealers had a section of the MPC chain. If you tighten snugly I bet you could get away with an inch of clearance on the top and maybe two on the side.

I asked several local fabricators for price to make 1-1/2 inch spaces since I only have 1-1/4 inch of side clearance. $500! I wonder if there's a different way.

As it turns out, the skidsteer hub is the same as the rear of the Mahindra 3535. Just ordered two 2" spacers for $210. Nice alternative to custom made.

I have a 4035 with R-4s. Sold my old chains because I have vey little clearence to the fenders. If I think I need something I'm going to order those carbide studs that you screw in.

Yeah, I thought about that but I was concerned that I wouldn't get the snow traction I need to climb the hill on my driveway.
