Take a closer look at the picture, he didn't scoop this one.

Most of the stump is under the bottom tines of the grapple.

View attachment 504701

He's got that stump by the short hairs! I'm guessing he jabbed his grapple bottom tines into the smaller roots under the stump and then just held on. Wouldn't want to travel far with that grip.

Here's one that I couldn't lift out of the hole with my loader/grapple after digging it with the BH and ripper. Had to use the BH to drag it up to the surface and then grapple. Pretty close to max lift and I only moved it about 100 yds into the woods. Note the small root nest under the main stump.

It's on the way!

Oh, wait a minute....that wouldn't even be remotely possible!

Dang, that was just wrong. I apologize. :stirthepot:
Travis

You had me going for a second on that!

Now I'm going on a hunger strike until it arrives.

Brett from OH says it was worth the wait. His words: "It's more than awesome."
He just received our 50" Wicked Grapple for his John Deere 1025R subcompact tractor.

If you ask, I'll waive the $50 JD Quick Attach build fee for compact loaders!
(subject to change)
Travis

Most of my customer submitted pics are orange, so it's great to see a Deere!

Already a taker today for the JD quick attach deal. 54" Single Lid Wicked Grapple ordered up for a John Deere 3039R.
Travis

It'll look a lot like this when he gets it.

A little while later, maybe like this.

I'm not sure if I found this pic on TBN or elsewhere, but I think it's nice blue scenery for the thread anyway.

Pretty calm operating, but you're in store for at least one cringe worthy moment.

My, My! The eye candy in my inbox this morning was outstanding. Check out this Kubota L4060 with a 60" Dual Lid Wicked Grapple.
It fits his LA805 quick attach loader like a glove & he's getting some good use out of it already.
:cool2: Notice the vvvvvv serrations we've added to the lid sides. NOW standard on all Wicked Grapples!!! :cool2:

Very nice setup! I'm jealous. Perhaps I should send back my lid for it's upgrade as soon as possible.

Good idea on that one. I have not noticed any containment problems yet, but I bet that design will indeed help trap odd shaped logs and limbs even more effectively. You guys are constantly optimizing and improving the products coming out of your shop. It is what keeps customers like me coming back, and praising EA's products and services

Haha. I know you have nothing to be jealous of!!
Thanks for the very kind words.

Ironically, just as I was showing off the newest Wicked enhancements, this customer sent me pics of his 66" Dual Lid Wicked Grapple that is approaching it's 4 year birthday! :present: :cake:

The tractor is a Kubota 5240 with an LA854 loader.

This one continues to lose a little paint & the Kubota L2501 continues to impress with the 54" dual lid Wicked Grapple!!

From the customer:

"Your equipment has sure raised my productivity through the roof! This is hard to depict but these were are the very very max of my lift capacity and we're bringing the back off the ground. I'm going with not much under 1000 lbs."

Any chance I could get a Kioti orange 54 to match my new nx5010?

We really only paint the traditional Wicked Grapple in black. It matches everything!!
Travis

This is a 66" on the NX5510. Seriously, does anything get much sexier?

I just bought a Kioti NX 6010 60 HP

What size grapple would you recommend

Nice!

Man, you're setting me up big time with that question. There have been multiple all out brawls in this thread over the years spawned from questions like yours!!

Reluctantly, I'll offer up my favorite pick, but your application could change it a bit. I'll be more than happy to discuss it over the phone.

Drum roll.................
60" Single Lid Wicked Grapple for Compact Tractors

I'm also not opposed to the 66", as shown on this TBN member's famous NX5510(I just posted another pic of the same tractor).

Well, I'm not really opposed to any size for that matter.

I got my EA 60" Wicked Grapple today. Only had a couple of hours available to use it but I am in love. Did what used to take half a day in just an hour.

I grabbed my first load - this old dead pine, and moved pile after pile of brush that I had cut a few weeks ago. Didn't take a lot of pix, but have more to do tomorrow when I move the bigger stuff.

I have a similar weight tractor with same loader as on the NX. I'd personally get the 54" and certainly nothing larger than the 60. Single lid of course either way. I'm happy with my 48 which will dig better.

I'm a firm believer in covering one's tracks. When the ground dries up here I'll show why a wider grapple comes in handy for MY use.

Regarding how I managed to snag that stump, it was too big to swallow up with the grapple (couldn't get a good enough bite on it). I pushed it quite a ways (through a wet depression which would have sunk the tractor with that kind of weight on it) and then as I was flipping it it just kind of hooked on the lower tines and when I raised the grapple I'd snagged it; hefted it that way for perhaps 50' (again, keep in mind that I've got a lot of wet ground right now). I'm pretty impressed with the Kioti being able to carry the weight like that: and I didn't have anything on the rear (tires ballasted though)- I'm still trying to decide on a box blade (7' "EA" is at the top of my list of candidates- 1,500 lbs ought to allow me to see how much weight one of these grapples can really handle:D).
