Do you think newbies or noobies or noobs are disparaging terms??? I don't. I think of them as shorthand for "somebody just starting with X". I never attribute a negative connotation.

I don't care what I'm called. I've had my tractor since 2014 I'm still learning and still making mistakes. I consider myself a NOOB. Anyone who takes that term to seriously needs to lighten up. Seeing as I consider my self a noob I tend to have a healthy fear/respect with what I'm working on and I recognize sometimes I don't know WHAT I don't know.

Exactly how I see it too. Letting people know you are new at something gives them a heads up that they shouldn't assume much and that basic explanations are warranted. If I have an electrical question I certainly want whoever answers me to know that I barely know the difference between an amp and a volt. The only dumb question is the one that wasn't asked.

Let me guess, you were not really an English major in college were you??? (Now that is a disparaging remark! Well deserved!)

Newbie is not a disparaging label when used to generically refer to someone who is just starting in some endeavor. It is no more "disparaging" than novice, beginner, etc etc. Here's your dictionary definition of Newbie: a person who has recently started a particular activity.

200lbs? Really??? The claw grapples of that size from WRLong and others are much heavier IIRC. Hard to imagine that that beast is lighter than your compact 50" grapple. I guess Ted's race car experience is paying off!:cool2:
