the golden rules ?

The golden rules for TBN is never post about oil, hydro vs gear and the dreaded "I Drilled My ROPS". I was going to start a thread on these three subjects but chickened out. Thanks for letting me bring them up!

When I got my Kubota L3430 I drove around the yard several times, got pictures (smartest thing I did then) and tried out the backhoe. I then went across the field to a rock pile and moved a few rocks. The wet spot I drove across on the way out became bottomless going back in and I got stuck. Was able to get out with the FEL, but it sure wasn't clean anymore!

Getting stuck may be a good thing. Do you want a wench? Think how easy it is to explain you need one, only a hundred or so, to save thousands of dollars worth of tractor. When you want to use your tractor, explain it has to get done now or it will be too muddy later, or you may need more tools to get it out. If she has a job for you that you don't want to do, explain you can do it but will probably get stuck and need more tools. You may be able to justify a 4x4 truck if you don't have one to pull the tractor out? Be inventive. I have been married 42 years, same wife, lots of different tools.
