Kubota BX25
After a few months reading the forums, much research and a final BX25 demo on my site today, I ordered a Kubota BX25 with filled r4 tires, 12" BH bucket, 3PH, 60" Hyd Front Blade, Canopy, block heater, Landpride Tiller, Landpride 54" Box Blade, Woods 60" Rake and Woods 48" Tooth Bar. Tire chains & Bro-tek add-ons still being researched. BX25 delivery soon with attachments to follow!
Thanks for all the help! Want pictures when it arrives? :D

Congratulations! Research for a few days, sit on the seats and then pull the trigger!!!! Good job and looks like you made some good decisions in my opinion. Just keep your front bucket low to the ground, stay off wet grass going down hill, go straight up and down as much as possible instead of across hills and keep it in 4wd going down hills.:)

Thanks JT! :D
No problem as my slopes (cliffs?) have no grass only blackberry bushes! Great advice on 4wd, even dealer had to go 4wd on my lower field when he got to the snow on the lower slopes. I have existing, dozer created, paths to move to my many terrace levels and will resist going up & down the cliffs to pick the blackberries! :D
Now the wait! (for delivery) No need for pics as you have a BX25??

In case you didn't get a brochure here are some pictures you can use till yours arrives.:) Enlarge them, print them and pass them around to all your friends and family except those that are always wanting to borrow your stuff.

Nice BX pics and beautiful neighborhood! In that 3rd photo, from the side, did you knock that little statues head off with the BX on a turn around with the backhoe?

Just wondering?:D

I think I knocked the statue off the wall by being clumsy, can't remember for sure. Not on a tractor. It's been a couple of years ago. Plan to have it stuck back on but the head rolls about like a ball. One day my grandkids accidently knocked the head off the wall and it went rolling down the yard, they just cracked up watching this little head roll down the hill.:) Now I keep it in the galvinized bucket to keep it from rolling.

Your going to have to change your "Looking to select my 1st real tractor" to "Waitin to get my first real tractor".:) Also, tell your son "Yes, yes it is, your 60th birthday".

I think my hour meter is off on my new BX25! It says 10 hours on it already and I just got it a few days ago!!! Well, it's rained so usable only a few days ago. All I've done with it is used the BH which is fun. I've used the FEL on the BX2660 for FEL work. I'm convinced the hour meter is off or it had several hours on it when I got it and didn't notice, but I did have to refill it with fuel today. It's a mystery.:D

JT, You most likely just have been having so much fun you did not realize 10 hours had gone by! But you are right, it may have been on the BX25 when it arrived. The BX25 my dealer brought for a demo had .6 hours when it arrived and left with over one hour. The demo he planned to use was already sold so he showed me a new one. :D You will be ready for the 50 hour service soon!
I will have to work extra hard to catch up with you!

The BX25 is a great machine! 16 months/100 hours and all is still well here. Only thing I don't do with it is mow, as the R4s chew up my grass big time (hill). I'm now looking for a nice used, low hours BX1500 with turfs and mower, within a couple hundred miles of here. Anyway, best of luck with the new machine, it will serve you beyond expectation.

* That's what I was doing when I came across a new and a used BX1500 for a deal I couldn't refuse so I bought them both .

JT, After removing my snow cab & thrower from my Toro Wheel Horse (so it will be ready to go for service when my BX25 arrives :D) I was examining our tractor (your pics) and noticed the FEL has a hook on the bucket. Is that standard on all BX25s or did your dealer add it at your request? I ordered the rear lights and canopy to allow more [seat time] work to be done on my wife's long request list. The Ky weather is such that these are not needed?

I have Barlows add that to my FEL's. He may actually charge me for doing it one day.:) It is very handy to run a strap thru it for lifting.

Kayakin2 there are a few sites worth visiting while you wait for the new toy sorry I mean tool to arrive. One is www.BXpanded.com and they have some great attachments including a quick on hook for the bucket. there is also Bro-Tek but I am not sure of the actual link so I will not try it here. They make a great shid plate which I would highly recomend if you plan on going into any wooded or areas with brush. along with several other really neat attachments. But I am sure some of the others will chirp in some websites and must haves. Good Luck....the waiting sucks

Bro-Tek: Tractor Add Ons

I had my dealer weld two hooks at each top corner of the bucket, but if I were to do it again, I might get the BXpanded version since they come off. BXpanded offers a bucket doubler for light material, but my welded hooks are in the way of how it mounts.

Good news! :) My BX25 is scheduled to arrive this Friday!
The attachments will follow quickly a week or so later!
Thanks for all the great suggestions! My complete set of Bro-tek add-ons are ordered to protect my BX25 and enhance my BH work opportunities!
BXpanded hooks (2 grip, 1 slip) are also ordered. I stopped by the dealer today and picked up a few tractor supplies and a new chain saw to keep me busy until Friday. Might need to charge the camera batteries, too.
