Talk to my dealer couple times w/out showing any interest toward the B7800 /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif..ya right.

The B7800 w/FEL won't arrive much before the first of Febuary,and he has 5 on order.

I do plan on setting down w/my dealer after mud season or shorty afterwards,once I start reading some feed back here on TBN on the new B7800,also trying B7800 out at home.

About what the going price for B7800 w/fel & turf tires?

You may want to consider the BX1500 for your 1 acre. Could save some $$ over the BX2200 and have all the nice stuff of a subcompact with for less $$$. Smaller maybe better!... did I really say that???...LOL

Great pic here John, real nice to see it,must bring back some good memories. They were a good tractor,never owned one but did work on oe for a neighbor.

Yes, I will be very sad to see the Power King go. It has roamed this same patch of land for more than 45 years. It’s never failed me and it is still a reliable workhorse. I also have a 1988 Wheel Horse 310-8 that I use mainly for mowing and it’s out of the same mold as the PK. I’ll be sad to see it go also.

I thought about restoring the PK but I don't have the time to work on it and I need the space in my garage.

JWE, is that your dad on that Powerthing? Sure you don't want to keep her stored away. I know you will regret selling it later. I also know a modern subcompact vs the Powerking will be like comparing a BMW to a clapboard wagon but still you might want to have the old wagon around. Hey, you could do what some of these guys do, buy the tractor first and then shop for a suitable homestead/property to justify it and maybe there would be room to keep your Powerking too. Don't sell it out of the family. You will be sorry. J

TresCrows... That is my late Uncle driving the tractor.

I have mixed emotions about selling the PK but I think it will just sit in the corner and collect dust if I don't sell it. Plus, I will need the space to store my new toys.

I also have a chipper/shredder, power washer, snow blower, walk behind mower, Mantis tiller, drawbar monted tiller, dozer blade, bottom plow, weed wacker, chain saw and on and on, all competeing for the same space.

We have a bx2200, the little tractor is great. Looked at the green ones at the time could only go bigger or small and they were not dealing at all, then looked at the NH and I really liked the boomers. At the time the best all around deal was the kubota. All of my local dealers are good people so selecting a dealer wasn't the problem just figuring out what I wanted was! Fortunatly for us we have orange,green,blue and red within 5-10 minutes of our house. Next summer for me is re-landscape my mothers yard 80x200, finish the cottage 70x400 its getting the yard lifted approx 1.5ft so alot of leveling for the little toy. If your worried about the FEL, well my wife now uses it as her wheelbarrow for everything might as well throw that one wheeled thing out! If you can get the 60inch deck as the guys said above uncut turning radious is better and it is also thicker steel.
If your the only one driving it you should be comfortable on it otherwise make sure you take the wife. My wife is getting me the tiller as my xmas present but somehow I don't think I'll get to use it....Just get to hook it up.

I wouldn't be so quick to let the older units go. If they're still functional, keep 'em...at least one of them.

I have a small Honda lawn tractor I use for mowing and light snow plowing. There have been several times it has been quite handy to have my 17 cu. ft. dump cart connected to it when excavating with the B2910. Using either the loader or the backhoe, it's often convenient to have the cart handy to dump dirt into.

It was also handy when doing some concrete work. I had the sand in the cart, the gravel in the B2910 loader bucket and a bag of portland cement in the cart with the sand. Add my electric mixer and a water hose and I was in business. I could easily move the gravel and sand to whereever I needed fairly easily.

Well I did it. I bought a Kubota BX2200 with a 60 inch mower and a FEL. The dealer offered to sell me a Bevco tiller for $1400... looked heavy duty. His regular price is $1600. Is $1400 a good deal?

Rick, I'd like to keep both of my old tractors but room is the problem. I have a 22X24 garage that is dedicated to lawn/garden equipment and it is full! However, It would be nice to have a small tractor to pull my chipper/shredder and small cart. I didn't notice whether the BX2200 has a drawbar for towing a small trailer.

Congratulations on the BX! It's a great tractor.

I sympathize with the "full garage" syndrome. I'll be putting up a shed sometime in the next few years to take some of my lighter equipment.

For the time being, I've moved the lighter stuff and anything without an engine underneath our deck and covered them with a tarp. I had to move the boxblade for my B2910 outside for the winter and it too is under a tarp. I just can't convince the wife that she should leave her car out in the snow so that my equipment can spend the winter nice and cozy in the garage./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Hard to say, but I paid $1,300 in '95 for a 40" Bush Hog. If I were buying one now, I'd likely get a KingKutter for a little less money.

Good-luck with your BX! Probaly it did not come with a drawbar.Mine own feelings,what good is a tractor without a drawbar.I had the dealer throw one in for me.He didn't want to.Probaly cost him $10.But there is a place to hook up a trailer below the seat.Have fun,but don't tell the wife how great it is.LOL

WELCOME to the BX club! I am sure you will enjoy the new machine. Sounds like you can use several dollies to move and store all those atachments you will have. Do a search on the topic a lot of good info. A few 2 x 4's some 3" wheels and you are set, makes storing, moving and attaching the various attachments a lot easier.

And I am really happy that you made the decision to buy the loader. You don't know how useful they are until you have one!

Boy do I wish I could make you an offer on that Powerking! Being local and all that...but like you...only so much room and needs...but as others have suggested...been in the family soooooo long...be a real shame if you would let it go...maybe you should wait a bit and then decide what to do with it.

Anyway...I am certain you will be very pleased with your new tractor. When will you have it?

I would think if the dealer quoted that price, it shoud also include the delivery. That is the way it works with my dealer, and we are in the same general vicinity....
