Sprayed Roundup on some weeds. But they never turned brown and died. That's when I noticed the measuring cup of Roundup on the workbench. I never added it to the water in the sprayer.

Ha. So instead of killing the weeds you were watering the weeds!

Two guys are sitting in a bar. One guy orders another beer, but has run out of money. The bartender says he will give him a beer if he takes a sip out of the spitoon. The guy walks over to the spitoon and DRINKS THE WHOLE THING! The other guy said "He said just take a sip, why did you drink the hole thing?" The poor victim says "I had to - it was all one gob."
That guy must have been a true alcoholic.

How about stupid things ex wives have done. My ex who grew up in a city once drove 300 miles at night with a loaner car using only daytime running lights. Couldn't figure out why they were so dim. She got so mad at me when she got to my cabin after I nicely turned them on for her. Another time same ex wife decided to grill me something for my birthday, thought it was wise to dump a quart of lighter fluid and use an entire bag of charcoal. Hey it was a nice thing to do but the siding on my house melted and you couldn't get within ten feet of my poor Webber which was now glowing red and the ceramic paint was bubbling, somehow she managed to get the steaks on the grill I believe she was wearing my welding ppe then decided it was wise to leave them there for a few minutes, after all was said and done I would have been better off trying to eat a hockey puck. My neighbor thought I was smelting precious metals.

I would like to see her - she has to be gorgeous!

So - this is an interesting question.

At the farm we are pretty isolated and I need to go places you cannot see or hear from the house. Mowing, bush hogging, cutting up limbs, all the usual stuff. Often, I’m at the farm by myself.

My wife and kids INSIST I take the phone. What if I get hurt? Just a bunch of what if’s? It could be critical to be able to call for help.

Also, my wife says, what if she or one of the kids gets hurt? Don’t I want to know ASAP v. 5-8 hours later when I get back to the house or barn? How would I feel if after 5 hours of working around at the farm I get back and my son has a message she was in a car accident?

I’d prefer NOT to have the phone simply because I’ve “lost” it several times. It’s a pain to go looking for the thing.

But, I see their points. So, I take the phone. It can be made so it only rings for their calls. Other calls don’t make a peep. Only issue is not to lose it!

Not taking your phone with you especially when working alone is being stupid. It is why you hear stories of people amputating body parts to get unstuck. At least give yourself the best chance you have by having the phone or radio with you.

My brother had a horse slip on ice and go down on him. He had his radio with him but wouldn't you know he landed on the hip that the radio was on and smashed it. He laid there about an hour before his son came looking for him suffering from hypothermia as well as other injuries.

Also think about where you are carrying it and its accessibility. A back pocket or your derriere is often a landing point - not a good place for a device - for it or for you.

This happens so often-- you totally focus on a problem at hand, not realizing there is a much simpler solution if you could just see it.

I have a GMC duramax truck. I tried to change the front left blinker bulb but couldn't get access to it. Checked youtube-- first video explains you need to remove the grill to replace the bulb. wth? Next video- this guy has a shortcut. Jack the truck, remove the front left wheel, then x, then y, then z. wth?

So I lived with it not working until next time I needed service from my trusted mechanic. He said: "we have 1 guy here who can replace those." Some skinny kid appeared, and was able to contort his hand and arm through the grill and replace the bulb. But no one else can do it.

I can still hardly believe a truck is designed whereby you have to remove the grill to change a light bulb.
My daughter has a 2013 Elantra that the left headlight went out. She wanted help changing and you just have to twist the bulb and cable and the bulb comes out of the back of the case. Of course this was winter time and she reminds me of it at 10:00 PM so everything is cold and dark. The problem is that on the left side the air intake and filter is right behind the light and my fat hands could not get in there. I finally gave up and said she would have to bring it back in the daylight. Well a few days later she stopped by my nephew's and he pulled the book out and all I had to do was pull one pin out and the headlight rotates out in front of the car 90+ degrees making access superb. Now they both laugh at me.

Maybe helping someone sometimes is stupid? Years ago at work a guy around back of building had a 1956 Ford F600 dump truck. His brother borrowed it, I saw it return an hour later being towed in (large wrecker service). Then I hear commotion as a fellow down the street was trying to push it uphill into a shop bay with his tractor, tearing up asphalt and his tires.
I walked around asked what happened. Guy says "all the wiring burned up". I asked why not simply drive it in? The owner's brother said "you stupid sob...didn't you understand what I said?".
I said "sure, but I can get it running in less than 2 minutes, you can drive it in".
Owner said "let him try".
I had a clip lead wire in my pocket, clipped battery + to coil +, then pocket screwdriver jumped solenoid. It fired right up, owner drove it in. The brother got so mad left the lot in his car spinning tires.
I told owner as I removed clip lead I was just trying to help. But...I had a few people ticked at me! Must have thought I was trying to make them look stupid (I wasn't)?

Stupid people are very sensitive to "looking stupid" They know they are stupid, and they get very upset when that is confirmed. And of course they look even more stupid when they get upset and act out. Witness the guy leaving in a huff and spinning his tires.

...was it in reverse and did he slam in a patrol car that was behind him?

Had a big load of round hay bales on a trailer. Secured with straps. After loosening the straps, I yank the free end toward me. I knew it was stupid the moment I did it.... I knew the 16 ounce steel J hook on the end was coming but I was too slow to get out of the way. Had a knot on my head for a week
