I'm the guy who bought TSO's stump bucket

, AFAIK identical to that pictured in the OP's intro.
What I learned:
My tractor is small & light, so lack of weight & hp became obvious. I worked on a ~3" 'Chinese elm' in very sandy soil (some gravel, no loam). Even with my remarkably puny FEL I
was able to break a few incomplete welds there (didn't penetrate both part & parent) and redo them. In the past, I'd pulled such with a basic brush grubber, bouncing up on 2 or 3 wheels as I raised the FEL and rocked 'em loose. I've since gone back to 'scratching' around them all with the Terramite before doing the op with the bucket OR the BG.
I find the bucket handy for 'pulling' smaller stuff (with BG & chain), and lots of other things, but it's certainly
no 'easy button' for stumps without plenty of
weight &
muscle behind it (MUCH more than my 35hp & 3.5k lb CUT). Visibility is indeed
limited with a FEL vs say a skid steer. The right tool is one thing, but IMO a stump bucket's capability will be over-rated by most of us with CUTs.
Read TSO's comments! We've been there with the same 'gadget' & if his LS wouldn't do it
all either we have our own conclusions. Ripper teeth would be a plus, but be aware that a QA bracket may get horsed out of shape trying to prove something. Buy a HD version, but IMO if you don't have 50+ hp, a strong lift capability/hp (LS, Kioti, .. Mahindra?), and plenty of weight behind it you will be disappointed with o'all ability. Be prepared to do plenty of maneuvering & to get out of the seat a lot, if only to fill the four holes you wheels have dug out by spinning them, or to scratch your head wondering who can use one of these to full effect.
Go in cheap if you get a chance to try one. Erelong, you'll decide if your machine has the oomph to use the best of 'em. :2cents:
