stuck in gear

I have a 5740 that tends to stick in 2nd gear. The dealer showed me how to unstick it but it keeps happening. What happens is when it is in 2nd the shift lever somehow gets out of the 1-2 slot and into the 3-4 slot and then it won't move until I get down underneath and move the 1-2 side to neutral.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

Sorry I can't help you but I have never had that situation with my 5740C.

Sorry haven't had that yet. We did have a 1972 Chev grain truck that would do that and you would have to pull the shift lever out. It solved itself when it caught on fire

i have a 240 that will do that if you pick up any on the shifter when shifting when it will happen mine has a plug to fill hyd fluid take it out and move the linkage iside till they are in a straight line hope this helps
