What's not clear in this one is what you do when you disconnect the attachment (or trailer in this case.)

Two tired

I think it was the IHC Farmal M that you could hook two together. Someone probably sold a kit that ran the front tractor controls to the rear one. Doulbed your power!

Wouldn't you call that a M & M /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Gunnar,
That double Doe is a fine looking setup, but I've got to wonder how it can be made to travel in anything but a straight line. How does the steering mechanism work?

It is articulated, it steers with a hydraulic cylinder between the tractors.

One of my favorite old JDs, but it sure is strange looking.

Yes, Model L. I had a chance to buy a well beat up one back around 1980. Been kicking myself ever since for not doing so.

Well, thanks.

Here's another ag tires make all the difference in this one -- pretty cool headlights too.

And here's a brute of a tractor with a great cab. It's unusual in that it is a tractor/truck cross -- almost. I like the color too. Nice shade of orange. This one's a Chaimberlain tractor. The thing that makes it a bit of a truck is the choice of tread on the back tires. I expect it has a road gear that's pretty high.

A buddy of mine was showing me some info on a Minneapolis Moline, probably from the late 40's, that had a FAST road gear. It had a cab also, and the literature said it would do nearly 40 MPH!

Don't recall the model of it now.

Here's a Mo' with a truck like cab, but I think the one your talking about was actually sold as a tractor-family car combination.

And here's a Moline that looks like it ought to fly (I always liked the looks of vineyard tractors, but this one has lines like an airplane)

Note the aggangement of the seat and the wheel on this old farmall. Sometimes it's important to know where you were -- or perhaps this one was always driven in reverse.

Reverse tractor?

And this home made one has a mother-in-law seat on the back and a place for the figure head to sit on the front. Don't know what this one was built for either.

Lots of seats

Cliff,
That would give a new meaning to the term "Point man". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
