Strange tractors

I bet that IH was made for some type of forklift set-up. I don't think that I have seen a tractor based reversed model that old.

The strangest paint job I've ever seen was a nicely paint Ford 8N--it had JD green with JD yellow wheels.

In the mid 60's I worked at a canning plant and drove an AC tractor with a similar arrangement. It had a skirt completely around it that was raised and lowered with the 3 point. We used it to push sweet corn off the unloading platform into the conveyor system that carried it into the plant.

Until then, all tractors were Steam and a bit dangerous and likely to start fires.

This one wasn't successful, but a few years later this model was the start for Waterloo Boy which was the start of John Deere Tractors when JD bought them.

Pretty cool tractor.

I really like this one. Looks easy to work on and it's in perfect shape. Nice, if kind of utilitarian tractor.

This is a great looking, compact, powerful tractor doing some plowing. What I find interesting is the guardrail beside the seat. It's almost as though it's there to keep the driver from falling off over the rear fender.

This one is interesting in that it has a REL (Rear End Loader) and is articulated. What makes it interesting to me is how much of the tractor is out past the front wheels and the fact that based on the angle of the stering column etc. I have a feeling that it is not hydraulic steering. Could be wrong about that part.

Also a very young driver and young cargo.

It's wierd, but on that last one, I get an error in Explorer, but if I go to the address line and just hit return, then it comes up. I've seen that before. Pretty strange (as in the tractor)

I'd guess the engine is hung way out front to compensate for weight in the bucket........
