Build something. Like others have said, you'll never look back.

And, so as not to hijack the thread but Combustix, could you start another thread and tell us the story about your avatar? That looks like a mighty fine wiener roast there!!

I hate having anything rot away outside...heck, bothers me to leave the lawn furniture out all summer.

Like everyone's saying....build as biiiig as you can. Even then you'll fill it up. Do yourself a favor and go 12 high with higher garage doors. When i build my 30X50 i figured 10 is high enough....Wrong....
I since then added a shed 24X20 and just as i finished it, i bought a 20 trailer and had no room for it. Added 30X12 carport on to the shed. Everything i have is under a roof.
Since i done all my own work, with the occasional help from friends to stand walls up or lift trusses there was quite a bit of savings there.

I agree but would say go 14' tall. My 12' tall barn wilk not allow the boat, camper, dump truck, or Case Backhoe in.

The other beauty of 14 vs 12 is you can build a loft in a 14 and not hit your head. My loft in my 12 tall always has me with bruises.

As noted in another reply indoor storage costs by way of property taxes and lost floor space for a utility trailer are considerations. Heavy duty tarp? To solve your problem could you store your utility trailer on its side somehow in a garage? Or could you store it in a garage and put other things (lawn tractor objects that can easily be moved off the bed) on the bed of the trailer to save valuable storage space? These are just ideas. I have 3 trailers all stored outside most of the time due to space limits. Eric 4 X 8 box utility trailer has survived okay (some rust) for the past 20 years outside. I like to say real men have tractors and great men have barns! I hope to live long enough and to prosper enough to afford a barn! Tractor on.

Also, if you store your trailer outside, be sure to check under it periodically. On mine the rust and corrosion was on the bottom and rusted out the spring hangers. Had to replace them to keep the trailer together.
