steering wheel spinner knob

I've had mine on my B7100DT for 44 years. I don't have power steering or a FEL and it works great. Mine is at 6 o'clock.

I don't need it on my L3540 with power steering. The power steering doesn't work on the Ferguson TO-35 and the steering is hard.

I had one on my first tractor back in 94, it about broke my wrist so I removed it.
It was a small yanmar and the ground was very rough!

Spinners may be useful with power steering but really not required.

If the steering is manual and Four wheel drive is used they are actually dangerous. More so for weaker people like myself.

Tried it. Removed it. On a 4WD power steering tractor, I found it more in the way than helpful. I use my palm for quick turns. I prefer not to need quick turns. ;)

I had a friend that put them on everything, if you hit something and do not have power assist, it will yank the wheel and turn that knob into a sledgehammer when it bashes your hand the next time it comes around. If you do use them keep hold of that sucker or it will get you.

If the equipment has power assist, I can “palm” the steering wheel, so I don’t really need the add on.

The only piece of equipment they seem to really be at home on are warehouse electric forklifts.

Like my suicide knob :) only time it's pain if wear jacket knob now and than get snag in opening.
Aka necker knob, back in the day you could drive one handed with your other arm around your girlfriend.

Sorry, but I wouldn't have one. If you ever get hit in the wrist with one after your front tires hit something, you won't want one either.

Found this type works best with power steering.

Other than the type of use the tractor gets or how many obstacles there are to drive around, I think it depends on the steering ratio it has. A high ratio means the wheel needs more turns to perform the turn verses a low ratio. Both of my tractors are high ratio and will turn very tight so there is lots of steering wheel turning VS some other tractors.

Also, not all knobs fit all wheels. I ended up customizing a mount for the Toolcat to get it to my liking. The new Toolcats now come with the provision for a knob on the wheel right from the factory.
