Yep, very handy. Made this one fifteen years ago to fit on the forks:

Buy and everlast DC stick machine and don't look back...:) The Everlast rep is an advertiser on this board and will give you a TBN discount. least he did for me.

Are you talking about the
POWERULTRA 206PI? A discount would be great. I will ask.

Gee thanks James. I almost had myself talked out of a stick welder but you got me looking at the Everlast site now. Probably should be looking at a machine that will do 6010. Don't know if 140A is enough, maybe 160? 200?

I just picked up a 2 yard dumpster from a nearby print shop. Will be welding a SSQA plate to the back so I can pick it up and move it around easily. Its my new burn barrel for clearing brush. Much cheaper than a chipper and holds a lot more than my 55 gallon burn barrel.

I welded a 3pt Quick Hitch to a SSQA plate twice. First one was the mount for a snow plow & sold with my old machine. It was handy enough for moving, lifting & maintaining various 3pt impliments I made another with spare SSQA plates & QHes I've collected. Just don't get under things hanging off the loader without supports.

Good learning project. It would go well with a 2" reciever, hooks & several other listed mods or projects.20200419_165219.jpgIMG_20150117_153824-1.jpgIMG_20150117_153836-1.jpg

Get the PA200.. Talk to Mark at everlast. I have the PA160, but they don't make that exact model any more.

Here is mine. And a photo of what it can do. You can also scratch start TIG with a DC stick welder with a 17V torch and flow regulator and an argon bottle

Maybe the PA160iSTh if you want the HF start option on TIG.. Just depends on if you intend to do any TIG work or not. Tig takes a lot of time to learn and some steady hand skill. THE High Frequency start would be very nice. Mine does not have it. I never run 6010, I just use 6011 for rough work, which is both and AC and DC rod. "farmers rod". 7018 runs good at 122 to 125 amps for 1/8 rod. It makes pretty and strong welds. 7014 needs to run hotter, maybe 140 or so. You can PM Mark here on the forum, I don't have his phone number handy, but he is the regional rep.

140 Amps will do the vast majority of things that the average hobby/farm welder needs to do. It'll run up to 1/8" rod.

I am an absolute beginner. I did some small projects with a harbor freight 90 amp flux core welder. I would like to learn and do things on my own. I don’t need high end and expensive tools that I wont use enough. I was looking at these on amazon that gets good reviews.

PrimeWeld 3-in-1 50 Amp Plasma Cutter, 200 Amp TIG Welder and 200 Amp Stick Welder - Welding and Cutting Combo, Mobile Welding Machine, Portable Plasma Cutter, Multipurpose Welder and Cutter, CT-520D PrimeWeld 3-in-1 5 Amp Plasma Cutter, 2 Amp TIG Welder and 2 Amp Stick Welder - Welding and Cutting Combo, Mobile Welding Machine, Portable Plasma Cutter, Multipurpose Welder and Cutter, CT-52D: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Lotos LTPDC2000D Non-Touch Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter Tig Welder and Stick Welder 3 in 1 Combo Welding Machine,½ Inch Clean Cut,Brown Lotos LTPDC2D Non-Touch Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter Tig Welder and Stick Welder 3 in 1 Combo Welding Machine, 1/2 Inch Clean Cut, Brown: Power Plasma Cutters: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

For the price, maybe they would serve my needs. Opinions are appreciated. Thank you!

I gave my son the 3 in 1 Primeweld. Paid less than $500.
Plasma cutter works great and the consumables are cheap.
My son says the dc TIG welds fine, and the stick welding was smoother than our miller.
In my opinion its an inexpensive way to get multiple welding functions and a cutting option.

Spoke with Mark last evening. Good guy. He recommended that I try 7014. The PA200STi is headed my way and I'm looking forward to trying it out.
