Just a funny pic.

So I was playing with the pump controller and adjusting the pressure when I noticed all of the sprinklers lost pressure.

I figured it was the pump controller, so I grabbed the manual to check status lights, reset the controller, etc...

After 10 minutes, the symptoms and status lights weren't making sense, so I thought I'd go check the lines from the water building.

I had an inch of water running out of the door as I turned the corner.

That is why I don't use that kind of pipe with hose clamps. It is almost impossible to keep them from leaking even on 40-50 PSI. Perhaps if you double clamped them at every joint it may help but those clamps aren't cheap either.

My inlet pressure is 100 PSI from my rural water company. I use schedule 1" 40 PVC for my water lines glued properly and it wont leak, EVER. IF you buy the type with a bell end on it, you don't need any coupling for it either.

My sprinkler man used 1.5" pipe for a main header and branched off with 1" feeding the maximum of 10 sprinkler head for each zone. It works well. I think the 1.5" header is overkill especially since I only run one zone at a time.
