I bought( I know) this Wallenstein splitter from my FIL's dealership. It's a great little machine but the working height isn't high enough, my challenge is to all of you. How would I raise the working height of this machine in the easiest way.

Stack some 2 x 8 x 2 ft.

Car ramps, extend the tongue stand on the splitter.

That's what I did today JJ, just looking for a more permenant solution. I was thinking about welding some riser blocks and putting on bigger wheels.

How high do you want to go? Bigger wheels will help, might have rework the fenders. It also looks like the splitter rail is just bolted to the cross frame/reservoir, you could bolt in spacers there. Possibly peice of heavy wall square tubing.

Here's what I did to the Poulan splitter that we (father, BIL and I) bought new in 1979. After 27 years of back pain, I raised it fom 12" high to 32" high and added a work table as shown. (Also rebuilt the cylinder and replaced the engine and pump). What a difference!

I would pull the 4 bolts that hold the axle to the ibeam, insert a block (12 stacked 2x8s or chunk of ibeam) between the axle and ibeam and bolt through the block to hold everything back together.
