Snow Chain Recommendation

/ Snow Chain Recommendation #41
Like others above, I've been using chains on just the front for 40+ years and have never had a problem. I raise the front off the ground with the FEL, and "wind" the V-bar chains on by spinning the tire. Turning the steering wheel all the way to one side makes it easy to connect the inside links. Takes about 15 minutes and I'm good to go.

The only problem I have with the V-bar's is the damage it does to the concrete floor. I have to put down strips of flake board for protection.

/ Snow Chain Recommendation #42
I only use rear tire chains (2 link ladder on R4s) on my B7800.
I'm sure front tire chains would really help increase my traction and steering control but
I don't dare take the chance of causing mechanic damage to the front drive gearing.
My Kubota dealer recommended not to use front tire chains because
it could cause front ring and pinon gear damage.
They've seen the damage front tire chain use has caused to front ring and pinon gears.
A costly repair, and not that uncommon in their maintenance department.

If you care to read more, here's an old and lengthy TBN post about tire chain and tire stud use.
Some of the folks talk about the mechanical damage they experienced having used
front tire chains on their tractors.
