OK, now it's even more impressive, since your wood stove is also homemade.

Should prob be in welding as it is off topic. Stove basic design is from Mother Earth News. Built one many years ago, worked very well. This one has a front load, extended smoke path and secondary burn manifold. 81D754B1-F42C-42CB-AC4D-719C59ECE8BB.jpeg

Nice job on the wood stove. Even have glass in the door ....... fancy, lol. What is the main body made from?

metalbender,
Very impressive on both projects.

I am certainly rooting for success on your front blower as having to modify stuff when you need to use it is very frustrating but it looks like you have "noodled" very well. Should work great!!

No snow yet in Northern MI, but my inverted blower is mounted and I have the SSQA to 3PH plate on the front ready to go. Used my rear blade on the front last year and gave me both options,

Coming? well it came!
Not much but for once COLD.
Hopefully this will be one year where the ground will stay frozen B4 a major snow event.
Nothing I hate more than blowing gravel.

What did you use for the long driveshaft?

The shaft is 1 1/4 cold rolled. Picked the size so it would fit through the lathe headstock if I had to machine the ends. As it was, I had to remove the man door to fit the shaft on the mill to do the keyways. Easier than moving the mill. The blower shaft is also the same size. Put in extra bearings to eliminate whip. Thanks for the good words guys.

Thanks, I was wondering if you used a hollow shaft or solid. When I was considering making one of these, I was concerned about the long shaft whipping or torquing off. I think you have both covered. Very nice work! That shaft must be very heavy. How long is it?

Lucky that you didn't have to move the mill or the lathe. I don't think I would move either one, for a one off project. Waaaay too much work to move it and then get it properly reset.

Very anxious to see the end result in use. Thanks for posting.
