small trailer for b2620?

I have a very small utility trailer but could use a larger one for general use. I've been eyeing the 5x10 trailer with a 3500lb axle at TSC. Question is would my Kubota B2620 be okay on it for occasional trips like for service? roughly speaking the tractor/FEL/loaded tires weighs about 2400 lbs so it should be within the GVW.

The biggest problem with a short trailer of adequate capacity is balance. There is no room to change the tractor position to get correct tongue weight. It may work, but if not, there is no easy way to make it work.

If you took the fel off for service trips, you'ld have more room to move the tractor front or back to adjust tongue weight.

Of course, that assumes you don't need to get the fel serviced.

x2 ...... I have a cut tractor with FEL and it weighs approx 2500 lbs No way would I consider loading it onto a single axle trailer,

I used my 6.5x12' trailer the first year I had ny 2620. I did not have a problem with the weight-this was a quality trailer-but I had to put the bucket on the tongue to get any sort of balance to the load-and that was a bit too much on the tongue.

I bought a 18' tandem last year, and what a difference! If your buying a new trailer, you would be wasting your money on 5x10 single axle.

Actually I figured I would back it on to keep the weight on the tongue. Definitely would add brakes.
Unfortunately there's absolutely no way I can afford a big double axle trailer now. I'm looking for a bigger trailer mostly to haul firewood, but if I could use it to move the tractor too it would be easier to justify.

I use my 5x8 trailer to move my BX2660 around. One 3500lb axle with brakes. It just barely fits length wise, and it's too wide with the belly mower on, I have to remove it. I was thinking of getting a 12' trailer, but recently borrowed a 16' tandem axle and with the FEL on the front, and a tiller on the 3ph, there was only about 2' of room left over.

I would suggest a 16x6.5. That's what I'll be getting when I get the funds together.

Dont waste your money. Get a 16' car hauler or landscape trailer.

Another consideration on these small trailers if floor strength per sq ft. Your tractor has small tires and will put the load in 4 small spots. Ramps or gate will also be a problem with a 2,500# tractor.

I quality 5x10 trailer would be fine for hauling a B2620, especially if you left the loader off. In fact, the small frame B-series can be easily hauled in the bed of a full-size 8' bed pickup (I've hauled a B7610 in the bed of my F-250 before.) With that said, the trailers at TSC are not what I would call good quality. They are built pretty cheap, you'd probably bend the tailgate when trying to load it. If those at TSC are all you could afford, give it a try but be sure to put extra support under the gate and back of trailer when you are loading it.

The nice thing about a 5x10 trailer is it is big enough to haul the tractor, but also a good size to pull behind a tractor that size. If it will only be used to occasionally haul the tractor (minus loader) then I'd say it might work. That being said, I haul my B3200 on an 18' long, 8000lb equipment trailer, but I'm hauling it about every week. With the loader and a 3pt attachment 18' fills up fast.

I have a Load Trail 77" x 10' with the 3500 lb axle and it hauls my BX1850 with FEL & 54" MMM. I wouldn't want to haul it cross country but the 15 miles from the dealership was no problem. Not sure how TSC trailers compare to Load Trail.

A well built 6'4" x 18' runs about $1800-$2000 if you can swing that, it will have brakes and be much more comfortable towing, that way you could haul your tractor with the FEL and any other attachments, trust me buy the right trailer now, we started out with a 5'x8 trailer and kicked ourselves in the butt every time we needed something larger (which seems to happen a lot with a small trailer!!!!!) now we own a 6' 4"x 18' and it made towing so much better!

It's always better to spend what is needed to get the job done than try to save a buck or two and wind up wasting the whole wad because what you bought won't properly do the job.
