Well, I recently brought my Simplicity to my grandpa's so i could get it running. I will be ordering the used pump soon. Today We decided to lower the ROPS down to the Fender so they wouldn't wobble so much and make them a bit stronger. First, We cut the mounting bars down 3 inches (so the bottom of ROPS sit on the fender) and rebolted it on. Then drilled some holes so I could bolt the fenders to the bottom of the ROPS but it wasnt an easy task. We had to use clampt to pull the fenders in a little and bolt them down. In the end, the ROPS are VERY sturdy and do not move at all. This was not the only thing we did though, we also mounted my new seat. Made 2 brackets and the seat is now mounted to the tractor.

Looking good Jacob, hopefully you'll get her turned around for a profit, and be one step closer to a larger tractor.

Well, i couldnt help but mess with it a little today.:D i set the new injector pump in and hooked up the throttle to it but i started looking in my bag of parts and i found 2 parts that i didnt know where they go and what they are for. One has what looks like the end of an air compressor hose and what looks like something like a filter. And it has an adjusting knob. The other part is just a spring. It is not for the inside of the pump since it is compleatly "clean" and has no oil/diesel on it. The rest of the parts look familiar to me so they shouldnt be a problem.

edit, i figured out what the spring was for. :ashamed::)

well, this morning i commenced with installing my fuel injector pump. Was pretty strait forward. set the pump in its hole, attach the kill switch, bolt in place. For those who may be or will some day in the future need the info on this pump, here is some information on it.....

it is a ZEXTEL fuel injector pump.
Made in Japan
NP - PFR3KD5571NP7
assembly number 104294 - 3040

My old pump may still be fixable so i have it stored in a safe place until i decide what to do with it. next, part II

Once the pump was in, i hooked up the air assembly to the engine and connected the fuel lines to the injector pump. Next, i attached a small hose from the fuel filter to the pump and hooked the ground wire back up. I put the small spring back on that pulls the throttle rod. I noticed the over fill for the collant had a broken end so the small hose connecting it to the radiator is just hangin and if the tractor ever heats up to hot, the coolant will land on the ground or all over the front axle. Will need to fix this. I put the charger on the battery to be sure to get a good charge to it for starting. I tightend down the air filter assembly and tried to get the tractor to fire. read part III for more.

well, after bleeding the lines for some time, the tractor still wouldnt fire. I noticed an air leak where the injector pump is mounted which was releasing pressure from the crank case. So this meant i had to take it all back apart again to put in a new gasket. :ashamed:

Well, i ended up taking it all back apart and used some mineral spirits to wipe clean the area where a new gasket will be put. The old (?aluminum?) gasket just wasnt getting the job done. I also will be putting a new gasket on the side access panel that lets you easily attach the kill switch. For tonight, i will let the mineral spirits dry and will keep rags over all the parts to keep them clean for reassembly tomarrow. I will be using "Ultra black" silicone gasket maker from Napa auto parts.

Today, i also did a service on the tractor. When the tractor was at newholland, they had drained the tranny but they forgot to drain the oil for me. Today, i drained the 15 year old oil and replaced the old filter. I put in 3.2 qts. of new oil from Napa and put 4.5 gal. (yes, 4.5 gallons ) or hydraulic/tranny fluid in the tranny.

while i was working on my tractor today, i found that i had 2 extra parts that arent for my tractor. These must have accidentally been put into my parts bag when i picked the tractor up from NewHolland. One looks like a fuel pump/filter of some sort (i may be wrong) and the other looks like some sort of pressure reliefe valve for oil??? anyone have any ideas?

well, here is my old pump. i put the red caps from the new one on the old one to keep dirt from getting in. Two of the bottom rollers are sunk in and one isnt. Would this pump be fixable? and not be to expensive? I have never taken one apart, would it be dificult to do if i did? the guys at NewHolland said that all the seals are shot in it. I wonder if they are still available yet this pump is about 30 years old so i dont really know for sure.

well, I just applied the silicone gasket maker to the mounting hole for the fuel injector pump. This should help with the air leak that i was having yesterday. I only tightend the bolts finger tight (to allow the silicone to set for an hour before tightening all the way). I hooked the kill switch back up and put some silicone gasket on the side access panel for a better seal even though it wasnt originally leaking.

well, i yet again have taken it apart, wondering why the pump isnt pumping enough fuel to start er' up. I checked out the cam and it is fine. rotates like it should, isnt wore out. So i brough the new used pump to NewHolland and a mechanic checked on it. he took it apart and said it was in fine mechanical condition but since it isnt pumping at 4000 PSI, i should send it back. So i called Roberts Tractor and i will be sending back this pump and will be getting another one off an Allis Chalmers 5015. The mechanic at NewHolland said that the pump appeared to be rebuilt. So i guess my tractor will have to wait yet another week-2 weeks until it will start. :( You can see in the first picture, it is very dificult to put it together and take it all apart. :(

You (and others) may be interested in knowing that the same pump is used on Massey Ferguson compact tractors model 1020 (and possibly 1010, 1030 etc.) which all use Toyosha diesel three cylinder engines.
My pump says Diesel KiKi Made in Japan and the other numbers may be misread either on your or my pump: I read NP-PFR3KD55/TNPT.
It also says (license BOSCH)
HTH

well, for a short amount of time, i got pump #2 from Roberts. This one was actually worse than the first corrosion wise. It too was a Diesel Kiki pump. I tried it out, and brought it to my mechanic at newHolland who advised me to send it back. But he did know a source that had a brand new one for $650. So as you may guess, i ordered pump #3.
