Used to be a decent gas engine mechanic back in the 50's and 60's. Don't know much about diesels. Have owned a YM 1500 for 10 years. Engine block cracked this year and had a local outfit find another engine, rebuild it and its running great. If fact, it don't know when to quit. Push the throttle lever as far as it goes will bring the RPM down to 300 to like an old HIT & MISS. But it don't stop running. My understanding is that the throttle is supposed to cut off the fuel flow thus stopping the enfine. Will adjusting the throttle rod solve this problem or is there something else that should be done.

TIA

reach down and pull the lincage shut that your lever hooks too. this is the linkage that goes to the injector pump. the spring is weak.

I just have a habit of pulling the linkage shut with my hand after i dismount the tractor and it idles for a few seconds or mins to cool off. I hold the throttle and push it as i pull the linkage to the pump by hand. May sound like a pain to some but its second nature now.
