That's evil and genius
F150 is all wrong, that should really be a 1990s Explorer or the S10 type Blazer/Jimmy. They would roll over on their own if you just hurt their feelings.

It does in 49CFR571.121 S5.2.2 49 CFR § 571.121 - Standard No. 121; Air brake systems.
S5.2.2 Brake distribution and automatic adjustment. Each vehicle shall be equipped with a service brake system acting on all wheels.

Not to take sides but that states "service brakes" not emergency (spring) brakes. Even service brakes weren't required on all axles until the 80s. Prior to that most class 8 trucks had no brakes on the front axle to avoid jackknifing.

Look at my last post where they say that all brakes are required to be applied automatically upon breakaway:
That is odd, Regulations Section says "Question 2: Are all brakes on a trailer required to be applied automatically upon breakaway? Guidance: Yes"
That would seem to imply that spring brake cans are required on both axles.
So if all axles are required to have brakes and all brakes on a trailer are required to be applied automatically upon breakaway, any trailer built after that requirement was enacted should have spring cans on all axles.

Fair enough, and to that point I've never seen a trailer that didn't have spring brakes on every axle. Tractors however don't have spring brakes on tag and steering axles. I've never seen a drive axle without spring brakes though.

Cant disagree with that.

None of our tandem axle tractors from the last several years have spring brakes on the front drive axle. The last 2 years with drum brakes and all of the disc bake units. I looked at them yesterday.

Same here. It’s almost guaranteed that a standard 5 axel semi will have 4 axels with spring brakes. Both drives and both trailer axels.
